Im so looking forward to getting it, and the Flash Tune...Im having troubles sleeping at night!!Anyways, thanks again...and no doubt when I do get it in a month or so I'll be posting my impressions and asking questions about some more mods...!Once again, thanks to all...Steve. Kenaz Member 51 Member For: 17y 8m 4d Posted 20/06/07 11:46 AM Share Posted 20/06/07 11:46 AM Even though my previous car was a V8 (EL Ghia) I didn't for a second consider the BA XR8 over the T. Since they were released I always wanted a XR6T over any other car in the Ford range.

Quasi Inactive Members 1 Member For: 17y 8m 2d Posted 20/06/07 11:01 PM Share Posted 20/06/07 11:01 PM (edited) I'm in a similar position at the moment.I have been a V8 die hard for 30 years (I did own a couple of sixes along the way). I have wanted a BA XR8 (and now BF of course) since the model range was announced.Mind you, I went into the ford dealer the other day and had two of the salesman trying to talk me into getting an XR6T rather than an XR8. There are things to consider, such as price difference, and 'Bang For Buck'.In fact I'm well aware that spending, say, $1500 on performance enhancements on an XR6T will reap MUCH bigger rewards than on an XR8. In addition, there is only 15 Kw difference between the two, in the BF range, now, making the turbo an even sweeter proposition for the money. If you bought a new XR6T and spent half the price difference on things like flash tune, and air induction changes, I believe the difference in performance to be astounding......and something a stock XR8 could not hope to keep up with.As much as I hate to admit it, I think an XR6T is in my future, not the big 8.In fact, I may not even buy a new car, and am just as likely to see what good ones are on the pre-loved market. This would make it an even more attractive proposition, as getting one at a substantyially lower price leaves more financial headroom for aftermarket suspension, wheels, and tuning.By the way, as this is my first post I suppose I had better say "G'Day!"
