sorry to dig up an old thread but my oil light came on when 2 minutes from home, engine still cold. Checked my other gauge and the pressure was still reading normal. pulled over and checked manual. Light then went off. Could my oil screen be clogged?

Checked dipstick oil level good.

If my aftermarket gauge still reads normal pressure it should be ok to drive?

If you mech gauge still reads okay then chances are your oil pressure sensor is fingered, or you have an electrical fault associated with the sensor

Can I just ask why everyone suspects low oil when an oil pressure light comes on?? there have been so many posts about clogged lines, failing oil pumps and the such it would be the last thing on my mind.
