that's right, this law applies to all p platers that get their licence after 1st July. But the police also have the ability to confiscate your car at their discretion, regardless of whether you have your licence before this date.

It's called the Demerit point system.

It penalises those who don't keep within the law, irrespective of a cars power.

shnaped second, it doesnt matter what age your are when you are on your P's you should be abiding by this rule regardless, But yeah I kinda understand what your saying! So if you get your P's at 18 years old you cannot drive one till after your 21st bday (3 years)

from the 1st of july the power to weight rule is out the door and you wont be able to drive any v8s on ps which suck as I have a v8 ghia wagon which is heavy as sh*t and under powered with 165 kw that I was going to give my son but he wont be able to drive it.
