I'd bet that it's to do with detonation, highly unlikely it has let go at that power level unless it was badly tuned or bad fuel, I have been running 360rwkw through mine for at least a year and 332 since it was new!!

Please do not turn this thread into a Tuner bashing one.

Power is not accusing anyone of a bad tune, so it should no be speculated that it is the problem.

The rods are tooth picks. This is not the first and it sure wont be the last. Some people get lucky others not so!!. It just picked that moment. the damage was done before the round about. the rod was prob bent for a while

Power, Did you get a retune after you put on the process west intercooler?

All parts installed and supplied by Autotech, all service of any type, all tuning of course. (Only time anywhere else was at Ford for the 1,500km 'service' post purchase).

The Process West I/C was at a guess about 3,500km ago when I moved from APS Phase II, at around 28,000km when I had my 30,000km service I think, and yes retuned. They also did the turbo wastegate/actuator stuff at the same time & the Walbro in tank pump.

Walbro pump you say... Do you think fuel starvation could have been an issue?

Well, it was found to have some issue with a cracked piece of line around the Walbro after I drove it Sydney>QLD>Sydney shortly after the new setup and the car behaved strangely, but that was fixed I gather.

Keep in mind that this isn't the first car to let go in such a way...

Goldie's car for one let go doing the exact same thing, slowing down for a roundabout.
