Hey guys. I've been following the XR6T with interest since I read a review on Autospeed.

I'm a Late model camira man, always have been (I'm 33yo) but I gotta admit the XR6T is a damn impressive car, and seems to respond very well to powerups. Unlike some people, I can appreciate nice nice cars with other badges.

I'm considering upgrading my sleeper VN Commie (http://www.vncalais.com/) to either an SV8 or XRT6 in the next year or so, they're both great cars, and some serious power can be obtained from both with minimal mods - so it'll be interesting to see which way I go when the time comes!

I'm from Canberra - might have to catch up with you guys some time when you meetup, so you guys can show me how these things go. It would be nice to be in the passenger seat of a modded XR6T to help me decide... Enjoy guys :)

Welcome to the forum mate. To be honest, last weekend I went and test drove an SS Late model camira with my friend as he is tossing up between a SS and a Astra Turbo. The Astra will be available to us in a couple of weeks. I was quiet impressed with the SS and the power delivery. I do admit that these cars are quite competitive and either way you would not be displeased. But for me, I'll stick to my XR.

 to the forum.

It is nice to see a comment like that from the "other side" :)

Good luck with your choice :D

G'day Drew, that's a hell of a sleeper you've got there, nice! :D

Funny you should mention those two cars, I actually went to a Ford and a Expensive Daewoo dealership yesterday to get a bit more information on those very cars :) The SV8 is winning out on price, but IMO the Falcon is winning in looks (exterior and interior) at this stage...have to wait until I can test drive both before making a decision like that

Keep us updated :)

Been reading through the site, and stumbled across the leasing stuff. Check with my boss, it's ok, check with the leasing company, all sounds very attractive. Maybe I could buy one sooner :)

It's almost too good to believe, that I can lease a car, and for less than a normal loan payment per week I get the car, fuel, servicing, tyres etc all thrown in for a lower price!

I've yet to drive both cars Simon, but I think I'll be doing that soon ;) They both are very tempting to me, I guess it's what happens when I sit in the cockpit that will sway me to one or the other. Please let me know how you go when you do - I'd be interested to know your thoughts too.

Slapped down a deposit today on a VY SS wagon, love the look and the practicality. Hate hauling my dogs around in the back seat, furry buggers just make a mess, so the wagon is :o

Ford really should make a performance wagon - they only made 500 SS wagons and when I gave a deposit today they said I nearly missed it, it seems they've all nearly sold already.

Congratulations on your choice mate, don't forget you are still more than welcome to come along on one of our cruises with your commie, gives both of us a chance to compare :D

The next Canberra cruise is a joint one with Sydney and will be in September.
