I was in Warners Bay working on Friday setting up a brand new office.

Closed the doors and turned the power off at about 5pm as we couldn't stop the water coming in anymore. Whole place was flooded and destroyed. :spoton:

Every road I tried to take to get out of Newcastle was flooded, went through a few and even had water up over the bonnet at one spot. I even went to head down the Pacific Highway and then thought maybe not the best route. It was about 1/2 hour later that the news about Sommersby came over the ABC radio.

Ended up trying to go to a hotel but all the city ones were flooded in so I couldn't get to them and the ones in the suburbs were booked out.

Left Warners Bay at 5:30pm and arrived in Sydney at 11:15pm.

Must have been some over the heaviest rain and weather I had seen in a long time. There was a huge tree down on the F3 near one of the exits, I think it was Toukley.

It was a pretty stressful day in the end, and the brand new office is a complete mess. It didn't get too deep so we are hoping that once the carpets are ripped out most of the rest will be salvageable.

I worked all night friday here in Sydney. By far the wettest night I ever worked. Going from A to B, street lights out, turn a corner and power lines down everywhere with trees all over the roads. On nights like these its not just the rain and wet roads its everthing else that needs last second manouvering.

I got bogged in the T for an hour and a half, trying to get around a falled tree on the road. I got soaked and have a cold.

At home we got a bit of dammage, but we got off prettly lightly considdering the damaged caused and lives lost.
