I hope everyone survived the night of wind and rain.

Woke up to find a tree resting on the Territory Turbo.

I do not think there is much damage as the tree blew over, but did not snap, so it is still in the ground.

Last time I went through a night like that was last year on Hamilton Island when the cyclone hit Innisvale.

It was a pretty big stom hey Mal, I spent half the night listening to the wind in the trees and the heavy rain.

Bad luck about the TT, hopefully its ok and not too much damage.

Now, I'm off for a surf down at Fairy Bower to take advantage of this 5m swell!

Sorry to see Zapper.

Pretty horrendous looking at the pictures on the late news last night.

How’s that coal ship at newy - dragged it's anchors from 20km out and after getting hit by 16 metre waves and 100km/h winds it's now well and truly beached :spoton: Good luck getting that farker out.

Thanks guys, the damage looks minor at this stage.

It is hard to tell as there are heaps of leaves and sticks. I will have to wait until it is dry.

Just spoke to my parents who are midway between Gosford and Newcastle. They've been with out power since about 5am Friday with no indication of when it may be restored, a huge branch was blocking their driveway, neighbors with a chainsaw helped clear it, gutters were also damaged. Worst however is most supermarkets and service stations cannot trade due to no power. They had to go to half a dozen servos then wait in a 100mtr queue just to get fuel and were only able to find a few candles/batteries as most shops are closed. Luckily they have the BBQ to cook on.

With another storm on the way, it could be a while for power to be restored, it's amazing how much we take a simple thing like power for granted, there stuff all you can do without it.
