I highly doubt the GT40th will appreciate in value, even in 40 years time.

These cars are NOTHING SPECIAL and only stupid speculators will buy them.

It was a pity FPV did not take the opportunity to make a great 40th anaversary model, instead they just built a tryhard tranny

yes I agree. the 40th anniversary GT was all a bit of a slapped together idea, without much thought. a real disappointment. you can only imagine how good it could have been if they created something hardcore in the spirit of the 1960's muscle cars. a proper GTHO or something? it was a missed opportunity and we wonder why ford is going under in australia?

I'd love to know the reasons why the head honchos at ford knock back these ideas?

when you think about it, the yanks were able to pull off the whole anniversary edition vehicle with the replication of the GT40 and GT500 Mustang. look how well those models have sold. instant cult cars and revitalised the franchise. id also like to think we make a hell of a better car, compared to the americans as well. one can only imagine what ford australia could have produced if the proper backing was provided...

let's hope ford australia are more diligent with the diamond anniversary of the Falcon GT

The timing was all wrong for them. The basically got stuck with an old model that's less than 12 months away from replacement, so wasn't worth spending R&D dollars on. I bet it would have been different if the Orion was launched now, I'm sure the 40th anniversary model would have been a lot better. They would have had more cash to throw at it too, at the moment they don't. I've heard elsewhere there may be a Bathurst model released later in the year with white paint and blue cobra stripes.

My mate took delivery of his 40th today. It's a HOT looking car, there is no denying that! Although they could have done more with this car, at the end of the day there will only ever be one "40th Anniversary vehicle" and only "200" of them were made. I just hate that Ford Fans on this Forum could critise such a car. We should be able to appreciate all of our fabulous motor cars, even if we think that more should have been done to particular models.

Put a Yella Terra whipple charger on it and liven the performance up a bit and it may be worthy of the badge. Until then, they will be hard pressed to beat my Futura...........

I feel fully able to critique any car. FPV IMHO have done a woeful job on the GT. Too goddamn slow. An SS will show one the door stock vs stock everyday. Give it some balls to match its looks ferchrisakes.

We criticise because we expect more afterall we are cosumers of the FPV product and what was on offer didn't excite existing and future FPV buyers on this forum. We criticise becuase we expect more and are happy to pay for the efforts put in by FPV, though now we can look past the "so called" LE's and look forward to Orion next year!

Absolutely. I forgot to add, most guys around here aren't that one eyed and will give credit where credit is due.

The 40th Anniversary thing is nothing more than a GT with a stripe kit and better shocks.

I stand by "woeful" on the part of FPV. Geez, stick a Typhoon motor in it and it would imrove remarkably just on sheer performance.

GT my ass.
