I have an intercooler and a clutch waiting in Melbourne with my name on them - and cant find a reasonable priced method of getting them to Wellington- New Zealand. Estimates so far are around $180.

Is there anyone on this site who regularly sends bulky or heavy (one of each in this case) items from Aus to NZ?

How can I get a decent price?

Is there anybody here involved in freighting who can come up with a good deal?

Thanks for you help.

How much does it weigh?

you can check the postage from Australia Post... http://www1.auspost.com.au/pac/int_parcel_type.asp

but for 10kgs its 89.50 for 15kgs its 124.50.... where abouts in melbourne is it?

I think it is around 20kgs or so. At the Wogs workshop. The even more annoying thing is I have people who want to buy parts in NZ - but the freight is going to kill it - it may not be worth the hassle.

I work for TNT Express and you can contact them in NZ TNT Express NZand do a 'receiver pays' international P/U from Melbourne. You will also be able to do it as a credit card payment if needed, but with any international delivery you need customs declarations as you are sending goods not documents. If they are at the 'wogs' premises then he will be the one who will need to fill out all the consignment details and also the one who has to produce customs declarations. This cannot be done for you by the transport company as the goods belong to you and the consignment is a contract on your behalf.

I imagine that the easiest way for them to be sent to you would be through Australia Post, as UPS, FedEX and TNT are more geared toward ongoing Business to Business transactions rather than single private pick up's going international.

You also have another option here in Australia that isn't Australia Post and it's a company called Pack and Send this is a link to Pack and Send, TNT carry all Pack and Send freight, the advantage of Pack and Send is that they do all the hard work for you, they do the customs declarations and all the hard stuff.

Hope that was of some help...

Thanks for that Jack - though it is looking more like I am going to have to buy in bulk - and share some container space insetad of normal postage/couriers though.

All of the options end up adding such a large percentage to the cost of selling the items.

Cheers

Bevan
