Don't know about modified, but with the few street light derbies I've has with stock 297kW HSVs, there's nothing in it. I can't imagine an edited T having any problems despatching a stightly warmed over R8.

Lag is not an issue if you drive it like a turbo, not a V8.

Ive choped at 297 Hsv Malloo Ute when I was stock so I dont see why you want be able to beat him...

just remember put the chop signal up when you beat him :stupid:

I know when I had my 5Spd XR6T a couple of years back I had 278rwkw and had a run with a Mallo 297kw no sure if stock or not and I was a car length in front all the way to 240kph then he started pulling some back. My car only had F6 CAI, injectors and Edit

220rwkw sounds low for a 297kw R8 with exhaust and a couple of other 'mods'. Are you sure he wasn't showing you his stock dyno sheet? I would expect it to be quite close, as I would think both you and he should have around 230 - 240 rwkw. With the auto I would expect you to take him. Keep us posted and don't forget to use your private road. :roflmbo:

My brother has an R8 clubby and in standard form it would be awfully close against a stock XR6T. R8 would probably have it though. That said modded, its game over :)

Now he has around 320rwhp and my WRX just beats it so it must be running low 13's or there abouts!

One thing I do notice is the weight! R8 seems to be a lot heavier!

Particularly in VE format...a rather porky beast.

The R8 is no slouch, but it will depend on how your car re-acts to the generic tunes supplied in your box.

Before anything else, take you car to a dyno to get your AFR's checked for each tune. Also re-gap your plugs for the 10PSI tune.

If you have 240RWKW then you will have fun with R8. You;re in an auto so you can stall it up an be gone by the time he thinks about snatching 2nd. :blush:

An exhaust system on the 8 will amost be enough to make your out of the box tune null and void. And the "few other mods" hes got (if they include an edit...) sorry bud I think he will have you by a car length or two.
