gday,

bought a new drill today and im quite excited about the whole thing, probably should have asked you guys what you thought of it first, but I like it anyways

got a Black & decker 14.4 V firestorm with a removable chuck and driver attachment thingy, so you can pull the chuck off and already have the screw driver bit there underneath. Im not doing heavy work, im a painter so only undoing door handles and things mostly, the occasional bit of light heavy work.

Are they any good? seems to have loads of power, no hammer drill but I dont need that, 2 batteries, for $189 at bunnings.

Yup it's a goodun....14.4volts is excellent. The small 9.6 and 12v ones are ok but no where near as good as the 14.4.

I have always bought the cheaper tools like GMC/B&D/Etc for thing I did not need much. I have 2 x 14.4v GMC cordless drills and recently got a Bosch 14.4v.

The difference between the Bosch and the GMC is like a BMV vs a Lada or Daewoo.

It feels better, batteries last forever and it is heaps more torquey.

I can now appreciate the difference between a $40 cordless and a $240 one.

German drills are good, farken!

I have a METABO cordless, and as Zap says about his bosch, the batteries last for ages and they can drill just about anything.
