Yeah its debateable how dangerous it is. Lots of people don't use bov's and they are not a std item on nizpro stage 2 kits. Same as letting your turbo "cool" down after running. The theory there is that when you turn the car off so does the oil pump (obviously) and there is no oil flow to the turbo... the turbo spins at 10+ engine speed so after shutdown the turbo is still spinning. Few people idle their car after running and I have not heard of that many turbo failures really. Having said that... revving the engine as you start it is even worse than not idling after driving. The reason being that the turbo spins before it gets oil and therefore no oil on bearings = not good!! All debatable issues, however the one I would be most concerned about imo would be revving on start up (but you would have to be a goose to do that!!). Keep in mind that I'm no mechanic and what I have just written is what has been passed onto me :)

yeah 10psi wont help that!!! vacuum line wont/should not affect it. Even a K&N alone will get you a bit more gobble as the gobble is air leaving the filter itself.

Yeah that's because of the bov design. the factory bosch valve is reverse vented and therefore vacuum operated only...so if you take it off and have a look inside you will notice the piston seals in a way that as soon as there is vacuum it's venting (either atmo or back into the intake, depending on set-up). Therefore you will hear noise (if atmo vented) even on low/moderate throttle. It also means it's suking in unfiltered air when cruising or at idle :(

With this setup, would it be deemed ok?

IT actually makes a really really cool noise the way it is now, and hopefully is safe.

Looks the part for 10$ to :spoton:

Sounds good man. Mine sounds the same, only softer as its only pushing out 6psi :(

I bought the same Monza filter as yours (in black though), but it sounded like it was releasing the air too easily and it was more of a slow whooooooooosh sound. Not very crisp at all. So I went back and bought their other type of filter (one that only lets air out the top of the filter) and fitted that. I liked that sound a bit better when running the stock psi.

Heres pics of mine fitted.

Mmmm...... did you use wd40 or another spray? Evaporative type sprays such as wd40 are the way to go. Did you let the car sit before driving? If the bov mod is done correctly it should be unaffected. Hard to say, but throttle body probs I've heard of have been low rev issues to. As for missing, sounds strange?
