:) Ok Ralph, here is another less catastrophic cheap solution:

If price vs performance is going to be a deciding factor then why not introduce yet another option...

Simply install a single

2000cc

fuel injector upstream and piggyback it off of another injector via a cheap mosfet and feed it with a $200 fuel pump at high pressure...

You don't need a controller...you already have a "demand map" based on load and PWM for the fuel injectors...all you need is an on/off switch and an injector(s) large enuff to meet the flow requirements...

The Meth requirement will follow the fuel requirement...all you need to do is get the injector size ratio correct...

But then, you couldn't sell $700 black boxes and shiny parts...!!!

Research revealed a good starting point is a single injector roughly 2x the existing flow rate for a v8 with 1 injector per hole...

I would also think that 60+ psi on a

fuel injector

will provide sufficient atomization to be very effective and agree that more pressure should make it better...but it still boils down to the old question:

How good is good enuff ???

For me, I'll be running Ford 80# in each hole and running 2 addt'l for meth at 60 psi and won't think twice about it...control will be as above...piggyback the 2 xtra off the primaries via mosfet connected to the primaries ground side...

The mosfet is nothing more than a copy of the exact same electronic device that the primary runs on and adds no load to the system and merely acts like a parallel high speed switch...switching in exactly the same rate and amplitude...

You could make it more complicated...but why ???

Just my .02

Helping the LX community 1 "budget-minded" mod at a time...

$150 shipping for a aquamist without any tank!! I hate international shipping rates. Dude I spoke to in the uk via email isn't too friendly wouldn't answer any questions and wouldn't make any jet recommendations. Worries me about aftermarket service.

I have read this thread for the first time today. Never realised it was here but half way reading through the thread, I was on the floor laughing so hard, I had tears rolling down my face.

Who in their right mind would shove a hose pipe into their intake?

At this point, my main concern about these systems, is why did it not become more popular?

Surely with all the benifits, these systems should have picked up more sales.

There were a few forum members that had these systems installed initially, but what happened to them?

This really does look appealing to me right now, but would monsta torque or even XFT know how to tune with these systems inatalled?

Luke, why would you not install one of these?

They are popular

Just not on our cars

Water meth is quiet common in the states because they just use wiper fluid with antifreeze

I still have Nitro left over so IF I ever get my sh*t sorted I'll add 5% of it to the mix! Would be interesting to see inlet and mainly exhaust temps with and without the nitromethane added...

I hate paying cnts to do a job I know how to do, that's prob why nothing ever gets done... Haha

yeah that's some of the things that blew out the budget.. :(

I was planning on mating it to this snow upgrade setup with solenoid included and mounting it behind the rear seat behind the small split..

they can be had thru VPW for about $90 all inclusive - postage though..

OR

this setup and tank looks killer.. mounts the pump onto the unit and all and tucks its all out of the way so only the line would be visible in the engine bay.. could possibly be modded slightly to fit our boots..

Well I see no one has bitten the bullet yet :)

I'm still keen on the Aquamist HFS-3 however I want to make sure I can get it to work. It appears that I would need to tap into the ECU wiring (scary). It seems much more invasive then systems that are triggered by boost. Wouldn't tapping into the MAP wire reduce voltage and cause issues? I also need to get my head around working out the correct jets to order, it looks complicated:

See: http://howertonengineering.com/tech-info/calculating-jetting/

Anyway this is what I was thinking of getting:

Get the unit here: http://www.howertonengineering.net/aquamist-hfs-3-injection-system/
