Car went in for its 15,000km service last week. Just the standard service except I got them to change the fuel filter as well. No tuning was performed at all.

Strange thing is, the car feels like its got a fair bit more poke than before the service. Surely dropping the oil, replacing oil and fuel filters wouldn't make any difference to performance? They didn't even change the air filter as I have an aftermarket one fitted. They don't flash the ecu during this service do they?

Has anyone else experienced this or can explain it?

You would be surprised how much dirty fuel you pick up around the traps.

Judd is absolutely spot on , the amount of black sh*t that the fuel filter stops is beyond belief. Trust me you don't want it progressing any further :stirthepot:

well I had no intentions of changing my fuel filter but.....

a dude on here with a similar vehicle who fills up on the same fuel type (BP ultimate 98 RON) at the same fuel station I always use, got a dirty batch of fuel which ruined his fuel system. thought I better get the fuel filter changed and inspected at service.

from here on I'll always have my fuel filter changed.

What is the ruff cost of changing the fuel filter??

Im about a month away from my next service so I might add it to the list.
