Try oxy or plasma cutter. I reckon you could leave the interior in while doing it.

Its a shame that you are pulling it out. Someone slaved on putting that thing in and now you want to take it out and have a car interior full of holes.

Do yourself a favour, leave it in there and get another insurance quote. I'd love to buy a cheap car with a well built roll cage in there.

nrma is $800 without it.

do the math + the wife is the main driver .. so I dont have any 10sec aspirations.

swap cars with sum1 who wants a cage.

maybe "EXIT" (forum member) as hes in the process of building a strip car.

just an idea!

yeah already been down that track actually .. a customer of C&V performance with a 05 black xr6t who's running in the 10's needs a cage .. and Con gave me a call regarding the swap .. I was keen ..but then the customer's wife pulled the plug on the deal, so it fell through.

its a shame really .. the bar work is excellent, looks really good in the car. if I didn't already have way toooo many hobbies .. I would of started a new project car.

CLearly you've never used an oxy or see one used, I havent used a plasma cutter but from what iv'e seen I wouldn't be cutting a cage out of a car with the trim still in.

finally got the cage out !

got a panel beater mate to do it for me for $300 using a air blade.

air blade was 100% the best option easy clean cut didn't have to take any interior out except for the back seats.

very happy with the result !!

from the looks of the cage holes would of been drilled through the floor to drop the cage and weld it together then raised up hard against the roof and then plates welded to the bottom of the cage and a sanwich plate under the car. when you pulled the cage out did you have holes throught the floor?
