Have you ever used an angle grinder or welder whilst wearing a cotton shirt? Cotton rags burn really well.I am serious all the plastic crap inside a car is highly flammable, the carpet, everything. If you really are that foolish wet the rags first and have a CO2 fire extinguisher nearby, and a handy cam so you can make a few bucks from the silliest home video show....goodluck. exahsix Member 296 Member For: 19y 1m 24d Location: Monterey, NSW Posted 29/05/07 01:28 PM Share Posted 29/05/07 01:28 PM Yeah no worries. They don't burn that well that the thing goes straight up in smoke. Of course I've worn a cotton shirt whilst using a grinder or welder. Surely most people that work with metal don't wear wool shirts all day.Sure is better than wearing a polyester one which would stick to your skin and burn real nice.C'mon now lets someone in 2 pages of posts give the guy a hand instead of all telling him he's a fool or all the other positive comments. Wetting the shirts a bit and having a fire extinguisher nearby is good advice so will not be ignored. And while the seats are out, remove the centre console and then the carpet comes straight out. 70% of dangerous materials removed. Cover up the doors and all you really have to worry about is the headliner. The only video that would be made would be the successful removal of the cage - not a fricken fire.
