The title says it all.

As you will see from the piccie, the grate at the exit from the Servo was not in place correctly.

The first thing I knew about it was when the car dropped and then a God awfull noise.

I reversed back and then saw the oil, so I switched the engine off quick smart!

All of the oil was on the driveway in a matter of seconds!

Now its with the insurance company - $500 excess to kick the claim off and they tell me that there is very little chance of getting anything out of the Servo.

To say I am unimpressed is an understatement.

ouch! is your car lowered by any chance?

Nope, she is absolutely bog standard. I would hate to think what would have happened if it was lower!

Mate as you were not at fault, you should not have to pay the excess.

The insurance company should be going after the servo as it was their drain and their neglegence.

Do not accept their bluff about the excess, tell them to get it from the servo.

I am also suprised by the damage as it is only a little drain.

OUCH OUCH, Man how p1ssed would you be. Sorry to hear about that alan, I know exactly how you feel. Hope it gets sorted soon, I'm sure the insurance company will claim it back on the servo and you'll get the excess waived.

You may have to pay up first to get your T back but when they get the $$ out of the servo u get your $$ back.

That is bad luck mate.

I cracked a rim and shedded a tyre as well as some suspension damage at a shopping centre last year as there was a pot hole in the road that my wheel fell into. Even though it was ruled that the shopping centre was at fault for not maintaining the road I was found at fault for not seeing the pot hole and driving into it.

My excess was not refunded.

Ouch.....the grate did that?? I am surprised that the servo isn't gonna cough up for this. They should ensure the grate's not gonna pop up like it did. It could have happened to anybody. I'd be pushing them abit harder if I were you.
