Hi craig don't worry about the shift dad got his ute with 3000km on the clock(demo model) and the shift wasn't nearly as stiff as a brand new on now it has 6500km and it isn't stiff at all really :)

Strange, the shift feels fine to me. But, that's coming from the AUII XR6 which, IMO, had a pig of a shift! The number of times I couldn't change down at a stop without effectively doube-declutching. I love this shift, it feels great.

I also don't have the musical windscreen, just the whine of the turbo

The 3650 manual box in the XR8 was a bit stiff when new, no clunks but was tight. After a few 1000km's however it falls into gear, very enjoyable and easy to drive.

don't want to alarm you ... but 3650 gave the yanks soooo much touble ..

I would reckon Tremec may have it right now ... :bookworm:

I have a 1999 Au Forte. Got it as a demo model from Gregory's in Canberra. I hate this car and can't wait to get rid of it.

When I saw the XR6T I fell in love.

Placed my order for XR6t, Acid Ruch, Leather seats, SSS and premium sound in late feb. I will pickup my new beast on 20 June from John Mc Grath in Phillip. The did a better deal than Gregory's. I took one for a test drive last week and now I can hardly sleep. Can't wait to take her for a fang arount the Cotter.
