All good info. It was Dion I spoke to and he sounded knowledgeable enough. Adding to the discussion about times etc On the phone yesterday he quoted 10.8 and 386rwkws. For some reason this is important to forum junkies. Anyway put my 8psi generic tune from cv perf today and misses under high load/boost. Looks like I'll have to re-gap the plugs.

that shoulve been done before the edit was even loaded in.

ALWAYS GAP PLUGS TO .8 BEFORE USING EDIT........ its only been discussed in 345635665653546463098809 topics and says in the instructions!! :gooff:

Actually the instructions that came with the edit box states that SOME xr6t's suffer from low voltage so may need regapping to .75-.80mm. My thoughts are if it doesn't need re-gapping no need to waste your time. Its a pity then that tomorrow afternoon is wasted in the garage rather than on the road. How long will it take me?

Depends on your mileage, but if you are due for new plugs (or yours have some decent mileage on them), just get the NGK PRF6B. They are the same plug, only they come gapped at 0.8mm (they are an early WRX plug).

Lotsa people running them.

Time - did mine yesterday, and only took 30 mins.

Took almost 2 hrs. Had probs with plug closest to the firewall. All the plugs were 1.2-1.3mm (iridium denso's). I regapped them to .80mm and put the 8psi tune in and whoahhhh. I tried the 10psi tune and 1st rev up to around 6000rpm the hose with the sh*tty clamp blew off. I put it back on and it hasn't come off again so until tomorrow it will do. There is not much difference b/w 8 and 10 though.

Ah, yes. I should have noted that I did mine at a mates workshop and had access to all his tools - makes life very easy.

Did:

1) Walbro - bit fidly the first time, reckon I could do it in 45 minutes next time.

2) Cooler - apart from drilling new holes, 1.5 hours (did that at home).

3) Plugs - 30 minutes

4) Injectors - 1 hour

5) HiFlow cat - paid an exhaust shop $50.

The plugs and injectors were done at the same time, as you need to remove most the same parts to get to them, so really if only doing plugs it's more like 45 minutes.

Car is now at the tuner waiting for the tune on Monday (towed there on a tilt tray).

I guess Dions results on the weekend show that he knows what he is doing, 10.22 full weight is not a bad acheivement, being a ute also makes it heavier than a sedan so I wonder how quick it would have gone it if weighed as much as the sedan that ran a 9.

It was great that he also drove to and from the track just changing wheels when he got there.
