Then I'd say the GFB stealth is better. I can put it to plumback and just get that flutter noise like the standard BOV, or put it to ATMO and it goes Really loud (depending on which setting you use)

yes GFB is a better valve for the reasons mentioned here. The TS kompact valve will still have the atmo hole a little exposed when screwed down tight, therefore making some venting noise at WOT. I went with a TS kompact as it was cheaper at the time.

Never heard one on an auto but I'm assuming they would sound the same when you give it a bit then quickly back off the gas. Through gear changes they'd be fairly silent cause your foot doesn't come off the accellerator like in a manual.

Hope this helps :msm:

Are you supposed to take your foot off the accellerator when you change gears in a manual?

For those that are interested my GFB Stealth FX may be up for grabs (may be)

Watch this space........

Why???you say...

Cos the noise sh*ts me and I would rather get left alone by the plod now (getting too old for their sh*t)

Its the manual one. Still haven't decided what I'm gunna do with it. I have to remove it in the next week so my car can get the defect lifted. Will make a decision then.

03XR6T, did you put your new BOV in the factory location, or did you buy some longer hose and relocate it to somewhere else?

Oh also has anyone else put longer pipe work on their factory BOV and moved it to a different location? I've got a feeling that moving it out of that little crammed space at the back will make it sound a bit louder.. could be wrong though

Maybe im just ignorant or missing something here, but wouldnt you just be able to twist it to zero noise (plumback) to get the defect lifted? Plumback are legal are they not?

I thought that was the whole idea of the GFB Stealth FX!!!

The claim from Transport SA was "It's not the standard valve so it is illegal" which loosley translated means "we can't be f*cked talkin to you so this is the easy option"
