and also pings in 4th under hard acceleration.

Just out of interest, what would have caused this? I assume it didn't ping before hand?

The reason I ask is that I had my car edited and it was running fine, but now it is pinging under hard acceleration also. I've put it back to factory tune for now to make sure nothing goes bang.

I'm getting some other work done shortly, and will have it re-tuned.

Just interested in your ideas on why yours started to ping?

Thanks

Dan

Hi Dan.

Mate I think there are a few reason why the pinging came along, the primary one is that I think the car had its last tune with a collapsed and squashed cat as it lost 30 kw between 4 dyno runs done 1 after the other and I was in too much of a hurry to check any further, then I went away for 6 weeks and didn't drive it, then for another 2 weeks, so it sat around a lot.

Also the mild steel MANTA system that came off it didn't look very healthy, so I think that now the whole system is freed up it needs more fuel, which it definately will when the new intercooler goes in. So I think the problem was just the crap cat and exhaust system. also I think the winter temps will make the cars ping if they are too close to the edge and tuned on a warm day? Better to keep the factory tune in the car until you get it fixed, I'm just taking it easy until I can get mine sorted next week :stupid: It was also quite cold in Perth last night about 12 deg and I was flat in 4th with 16lbs of boost rushing through the thing. :stupid:
