Have we worked out if these shifting issues arent just software related? I know the symptoms of a worn box is flared/flat out refusal to shift but I have heard about fresh boxes still playing up.

New here..

Can anyone recommend any workshops in Brisbane/Gold Coast area that can rebuild transmissions?

I own a BMW 135i which coincidentally has the same 6AT transmission that is used in some of the Falcon's.

It is the ZF 6HP21.

From what I understand the trans is only rated to 600nm.

I want to be able to run between 300-360rwkw and upwards of 600nm daily without any issues.

Also, can anyone give me some estimates of how much this would cost and how long my car will be in the shop?

The slipping trans is a very common problem on our modded platform, particularly in the USA.

Thanks in advance.

Not to sure how many OLD shops if any are building ZF's from what I understand most shops are shipping them either to Sydney, Melbourne or Perth to have them built. Three shops that quickly come to mind are CMS (SYD) Nizpro (MEL) & Monster Torque (PER). A stage 2 spec box will more then cover your power and torque goals. I have a CMS stage 2 box and it's more than capable of my almost 500 rwkws and 950 nms of torque.

Thanks for the reply mate.

I would be willing to drive my car down to Sydney if there was no other local option available for a reasonable price. However, Brisbane/Gold Coast is my first preference so I can take my car back in the event that I have any issues later down the track.

Hopefully a few other local guys can chime in with their experiences too.

Does upgrading the transmission affect the drivability of the car in any way? Are you happy with your CMS Stage 2? Can I ask what cost and how long did it take?

On a side note, I'm very impressed with the power you guys are getting from your engines and the high trap speeds reflect that.

I joined this forum to find out a solution to our transmission problems and keep getting distracted with other threads. Some great builds in here.

Driveabililty is hardly effected in my case at least shifts are a little firmer but not heaps. I also run a decent size trans cooler off my ZF which also keeps the trans temps in check when your assholing it.

Also 2 zfs have gone 9's now so you can see if they are put together right they can perform.

Costs wise budget for 5+ and a little more if you want more billet goodies and a stally.
