Jetute had the same thing, was from a 5-speed based edit tune rather than a 6-speed

Was hilarious at the time watching the poor bastard trying to find the correct tune so he could reverse out of the carpark :roflmbo:

and you reckon I'm an evil bastard :w00t2:

I thinks it might be your reverse lockout solenoid .... possibly 1 setting in the edit, get ure tuner look at it.

or it could be a sticky solenoid.....

Or try pumping the clutch b4 you put it in R, if that makes it easier, ure clutch might be rooted...

yeah thanks tabitha!!!! am gald some found it funny cause I was farking furious...

anyway tabs right on the money.... the tuner has used a 5 speed manual base tune..... and this farks up reverse and does not open the gate and hence you have to force it trhough.

The tuner needs to use the 6 speed map base code on the side of the ecu and rewrite a new tune... the problem is that they use the generic tunes sent and try to work of these only.... and all the originals were from the 5 speed.... get them to base it of your ecu code and the problem will dissapear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :spoton:

ps... I wouldnt want to be forcing it through the gate too often..... get it fixed immediately as its an electric gate controlled by the ecu!!

Who ever did the tune for you has used the wrong strategy.

The only way to rectify it is do the tune again using the the right strategy.Normaly get this problem with generic tunes.

This is SCT tuning 101.

sometimes my T5 is hard to get reverse and 1st (ever since I had the clutch upgraded).. I usually just knock it into 4th or 3rd, and then try again and it's fine. Probably not the same issue though :welcome2:

im not sure how you do it but mine is wired in so that the gate for reverse only opens when you have your foot on the brake. this is how mal woods recommend you do it, and ninka got mine done in around 10 mins.. may be worth looking into!
