I have around $800 to spend. im going to an exhaust place this wednesday to test out a few different things and to see what they have to say.so hopefully soon I should have a nice sounding xr cheers guysanthony

I dont know if it has anything to do with the fact that mines a bf and the exhaust is off a ba, no one thinks theres any difference and heaps of people have done it no worries but im walking proof of murphys law so it had to go wrong. in my frustration I jsut got him to replace the centre muffler with straight pipes even though id heard it doesnt sound good. im fairly happy with the result though. it was 60 buks and was more of the sound I was looking for anyway. its a throatier sound which is what I like, not that loud raspy sound. its also liveable with in that its not overly loud and doesnt give you a headache when driving around. above 2.5k rpm the engine sound takes over and you dont notice much difference from the stock system. it just gives a burble off the line which is what I like. it also gives a slightly louder ignition with a little more rumble than stock, not enough to get annoying if you were at a standstill for a long time though. at times you wish it was a little louder but im sure if it was youd get sick of it with everyday driving. the only reason im not 100% is because the turbo system would most definately give a little extra performance even though I probably wouldnt notice much difference between the two. if you decide you want to fit the turbo cat back you can have mine if you want ive had enough of trying to fit it and will live with the straight pipes.
