When I was a young teenager we saw what was a slow shooting star travel across the sky. We spotted it about 45 degrees above north and it went on an arc to about 20 degree above south, then stopped and went up vertically in the horizon.

At the time I just thought shooting stars cant do that.

I do believe most people when they talk about these things.

I believe I UFO`s and other creatures in the universe but I never spotted one :(

when you actually see one you dont realise until about 10 seconds after you have seen it, exactly what you just saw.

its like 'wheres the camera' ... too late.

I grew up on Eyre Peninsula far west SA.There were crop circles in the stubble there (Butler Tanks)in the late 1960's,long before it was fashionable to create hoax circles.

Reflected city lights cuts down your view of the heavens at night.I had the pleasure of watching skylab come to earth in 1979.quite a show.and yes I've seen a ufo.

a little of topic but I have seen many ghosts.. I am not tellling sh*t either. everytime I have seen one it is in the twillight zone, which is in between being asleep and awake (you no how you wake up but your still basically asleep) and what happens is if a ghost is there they can put you into sleep paralization which is when you cannot move anything exept your eyes. at the time it feels like a dream but when you wake up in the morning you realise how real it was and im telling you it is the most terrifying thing you can experience beacause you can see it but cant yell or move. I am 19 now and I will not sleep in my house if no one else is home. you can laugh but it is the truth. I also have a friend who lives out at picton which is known as one of the most haunted places in aus and he has also seen some interesting things.

Well my brother-inlaw (whos not the kind of guy to make up stories like this) said that in their house one time he was walking down the stairs and in a recliner chair in their lounge room he saw the ghost of his grandmother. I cant remember what he did or if he said anything, but his brother had also seen their grandmothers ghost sitting on the same recliner another night. we were all very spooked when he first told us the story :violin:

Well I've seen a UFO, a Yowie, and had Supernatural experiences that my logical thinking mind cannot explain.

Approx 35 yrs ago whilst living in Murwillumbah (Nth NSW) population around 12-13,000. I was putting out the rubbish just on dark and happened to look up to see a light travelling parallel to ground over the mountain range probably 10-12km away.

I didn't take much notice at first because we had a small airfield in town and often saw light aircraft flying around. The only difference was that this object took off at a 60-70deg angle and climbed out of sight within a few seconds.

Now to my knowledge there was nothing man made that could achieve that feat in the early 70's. My family and friends thought I was mad and just had an over active imagination but apparently others witnessed it too.

A few years earlier I was working with my father on our banana plantation about 15km out of town. It was school holidays so I would go and help dad but mainly get in the way (I was about 7 or 8yrs old). We had a flying fox to transport the bananas down the mountain as bananas like to grow on the slope, one day I went for a ride with the bananas as I often did, only problem was I had to walk back up to the top shed, probably 6-800m away.

This particular day I had the neighbours dog with me and he took off after something in the bush. I looked up to see what I can only describe as something that looked like a big brown bear swinging it's head from side to side. Now seeing as how we don't have bears in this country I can only assume that what I saw was in fact a Yowie (Bunyip, Big Foot etc). The dog never came back which scared the sh1t outta me I can tell ya.

I'm not a long distance runner, about 200m and I'm buggered, but this day I sprinted all the way to the top shed. Upon arrival I told my father what I had seen and he thought I was making up stories as I had quite a vivid imagination as a child.

Anyway about 6 or 7 yrs later I was in High School and we were having a discussion about strange and usual sightings etc. One of the girls in my class relayed a story of an experience she had about the same time in the currumbin valley, which as the crow flies is about 20km from where I had my experience.

They were bush walking and came across a large hairy creature that had just killed a cow and was eating it when they stumbled upon it. She didn't get a very good look at it because they turned and ran for their lives, but the description she gave was almost identical to mine.

Strangely enough my stepmother now sends me any articles she finds about similar sightings. I think they now believe I wasn't making it up after all.

And as for the Supernatural encounter, whilst living with friends of my cousin in a small town called Merrigum (about 20km west of Shepparton in Vic) we met a couple of guys at the local pub (I was about 16 or 17 at the time, they were probably early 30's I guess). For those of you who know the town there's not a lot to do after dark.

Anyway these two guys invited us back to their place after the pub closed as it was only about 2km's out of town for a game of cards. Two of us, Tony and I graciously accepted and off we went. Neither of us had a car so we had to walk. They had a very long driveway running off the main road.

Well we got bored playing cards so one of the guys said why don't we do an oweedgie board (spelling?), one of them had learned how to do it whilst in gaol (I should've realised then this was not a good idea). Now being young and full of bravado we agreed. We wrote the letters out on a writing pad, used a coffee table to sit around on the bedroom floor and used a crystal goblet that one of the guys (Perry) had received as a wedding gift.

It didn't take long before things got outta hand. It started with the usual holding of hands on the glass and moving it around the table which could easily have been rigged. My friend Tony (not being a believer in this sort of stuff) was mouthing off daring this particular spirit to show us how good he thinks he is and give us a sign. Well just as he was going off the coffee table lifted off the ground about 120-150mm and slammed back down again. This freaked Perry's cousin out and he sat out of the circle. We continued on and tony wouldn't give up convinced it was all put on. Next thing you know the crystal goblet rose up in the air and smashed down on the floor beside Tony's feet.

By this time we were all pretty freaked out, espescially Perry's wife. He said we must have gotten a particularly nasty spirit and that the only way we could get rid of it was to burn all the letters in the fireplace, so we did. By this time it was just after midnight. We started to make our way down the long dark driveway, it happened to be a full moon so we could see fairly easily without needing a torch.

Now this driveway was about 150-180m long. We got about 50m from the house when we heard a noise like the cry of a banshee or a ghost or something like you know, whooooooo. It was the scariest noise I've ever heard and I've got goose bumps just thinking about it. Well as I stated previously I'm not a long distance runner but I just bolted down that driveway. Big tough Tony however convinced that it was just the guys trying to scare us turned around to look, but there was nobody there.

Now Tony was a little taller than me and a bit heavier, not exactly the picture of good health, would you believe he caught up to me by the time I got back to the main road. We walked arm in arm all the way back to town freaking out at every little noise we heard.

Finally we arrived home and got into bed. This was about 12.30am. Tony and I were sharing a room at the back of the house with two single beds in it, mine was below the louvred window. During the night not long after we had calmed down enough to go to sleep the family cat came through the window and jumped down onto my bed. Well as you can imagine I freaked out, jump 6ft in the air and I'm not ashamed to say, started screaming, needless to say I woke the whole house up.

The friends we were staying with, Don and Joy gave us a cup of hot cocoa and calmed us down. After telling them everything that had happened they said not to worry as Joy's mother had passed away in the house and can often be seen rocking the chair in the lounge. They assured us that she wouldn't allow any bad spirits into the house and would protect us.

In the morning whilst making our beds Tony found the letter 'X' in his bed written on the same pad paper that we had used in the seance (spelling?), only we had burnt all the letters in the fireplace. At first I thought it could've been stuck to his clothes, but as we both wore our birthday suits to bed this was highly unlikely. Someone told us that the letter 'X' meant death and that really freaked us out.

About a week later whilst waiting to catch a train we bumped into Perry's cousin who told us they had indeed intended to give us a bit of a scare but it just got out of hand and we really did summon a spirit. That was why he got up and left the circle. He was dead set scared.

So now when anyone mentions anything about the supernatural I don't disbelieve them.

These are true stories that I hope haven't bored anyone to death whilst I've been rambling on, thank you for listening and good night.

I have had the oportunity to do that weedgie board thing a couple of times but I wouldnt. pi**sing off ghosts isnt exactly the best thing to do. they can stay there and follow you around for years..

my mate out at menagle was asleep one night at woken up by a tapping on the window he said he has opened his eyes and standing at the window was the gream reaper with the hood and the axe thing and all and again he couldnt move or scream. in the morning he wakes up and was talking to his neighbour about it and he said he had exactly the same dream only he was running in a bush and seen it.. both of them described him as just all bones with no skin and couldnt see his face.. that is one ghost I would never want to see.
