I have just completed the cars first oil change at 6500km, and have decided to use Mobile1 5w/50 full synthetic after viewing some of the other posts on oils. I have now noticed a considerable rise in oil pressure either idling or running, prior to the change the car would sit at about 200kpa idleing and 250-300kpa running. It now sits about 350 idling and 400-500 running which is just about max on the gauge, I realise this oil is more viscious than the run in mineral oil but should it be running this high?

Any suggestions would be great :crybaby:

Jasper,

I would not worry, the factory gauges are so inaccurate, but the thinner oil will create less resistance..

I also noticed an increase in pressure, but it has been no problem and I am using the same oil.
