Posted 19/07/03 07:29 AM Share Posted 19/07/03 07:29 AM Is it possible that cars that are driven hard self tune more power or teach themselves and could lead to a higher reading. Just a thought. I know I drive hard and have averaged 17.3lt/100km for 10500km. I wonder what the Lt/km are for the rest?

The way the price of fuel flucuates I dont see the point to it IMHO. That and the calculating makes my head hurt.

Falchoon I see red Member 5,758 Member For: 22y 21d Location: nowhere in particular Posted 03/08/03 03:16 AM Share Posted 03/08/03 03:16 AM Reckons he nees new bigger exhaust and different intake hose to air cleaner. The intake hose he has now is a corrugated platic job that does a right-angle bend as it comes off the throttle body to clear the air-con compressor so this a bit restritive, but even so...Interestingly the same dyno had an XR8 ute there at the same time and it only came away with about 160rwkw. Ute had only done about 800km so it needs some loosening up I guess, as does my mate's car as it has even fewer kms. The motor would be worth a few bucks, maybe not $10K, my mate owns a wreckers/spare parts shop so has done the motor as a barter trade fr parts so actual cost to him is minimal. The engine builder is quite a reputable one in Canberra, been involved with drag, speedway and hot street cars for years and the guy who tuned the car has the shop next door and has an excellant name with hot cars too, particularily 308 Holdens. He owns a twin turbo 308 LX Torana that I think won it's class at Summernats Horsepower Heros dyno comp last year.I just laugh at my mate because he looks down his nose at me because I have a Ford, and because it's 'only' (hiswords) a six cylinder. Can't wait to pull up at the lights next to him someday and show him what 'just-a-six' can do!
