I've got this problem but in reverse. Yesterday my rear left door dicided it wanted to stay permanantly locked, and when I open the car it just makes a funny sound like it's jammed. Can I fix this in the same way?

Its a good thing the search button works on these forums....it saved me the hassle of starting a new topic....

Well, I found out accidently yesterday (well my youngest son did) that the front passenger side door doesnt lock. It was playing up a while ago where it wouldn't unlock and know its gone the other way.

And to make matters worse, the warranty expired 2 farken days ago :bangcomputer: ....any chance Fraud will give me a grace period and fix it from the goodness of their heart?...... :lurvedealer:

same happened to me, it is a dodgy plastic part that snaps, can't be worth more than 50c.. had 2 break at once, so just disconnected the outside handle on the rear door, and use the key to lock and unlock the drivers door.

guy sells replacement actuators on ebay for around $60 exchange.

Have you got the link to ebay as I have fixed 2 of mine so far but with limited tools they only last about 2 months before breaking again.

Ford Townsville wanted $200 for the complete acutator or $80 at the wreckers.

Why dont they just have the 50c part available as its the weak link?

Maybe we need someone to produce these in alloy or the same plastic, I'm sure they'ed make a killing.

My ute started not locking the passenger door tonight :( looks like tomorrow will be filled with removing door trim and hopefully I can fix it.

Really sad to see that bosch have been making this for so long and still don't make it last more than 3 years.

I had my 2004 XR6T looked at yesterday by RACWA prior to the warranty running out. Found a few minor things but one BIG thing you will all be interested in.

The left hand side rear door intermiitently (and increasing in occurrence) does not lock. All other doors lock but not the LHR. When opened it unlocks all the other doors as well.

RAC bloke said he has seen this quite often on these vehicles.

Bit scary when you leave it and think it's safe.

We actually noticed the reverse happening (would not UNlock with the others) and he showed us the not locking issue as well.

change the door locking motor it had it

Check your LHR doors
