Calling the cops when ever they dont want a union rep to come in its crazyThe Mines? are you serious? you got nothing to complain about, from what I hear 95% of the miners dont want that labour awa sh*te becuse they will be earning 20% less if it comes in.I thought you were a supermarket /fastfood/shop assistant worker, some kind of low paid employee that may have had something to complain about.unions are a bloody neusance, they always have been you pay your money, and when you need their help they do everything humanly possible to make it difficult for you to receive that help. If you mean he cannot buy a house near you, then tough luck, I would like a waterfront mansion, but I cannot afford it. I either dream about it or DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.It is not the local/state or federal governements fault, accept it and move on.rednut you talk about immigrants no wanting to strike or join a union, well all I can say is welcome to the 21st century. This is why Work Choices was invented. To stop Unions bullying workers into joining, to prevent Closed Shops, to allow people to make their own decisions. As for loosing holiday pay, sick leave and loadings, under WC you cannot be worse off or forced to sign them. You have the right to stay under the federal award for your job that was in place before WC.People need to stop listning to the unions and nay sayers who "think" they know what the hell they are talking about.Oh and by the way I just employed an immigrant who cam to Oz from Azabyjan (USSR) under the skilled migration program. This guy is earning top dollar and is now a valuable part of my team. I could not fill the position with local tallent as they either wanted way to much money or lacked the skills for the job.I hope JH does another term as PM. Lifetime Members 7,935 Member For: 20y 9m 16d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 10/05/07 11:16 AM Share Posted 10/05/07 11:16 AM I understand your frustration, but it is all about supply and demand. In Sydney the state government (Labour) normally release 7,000 blocks of land per year. For the past 5 years they have been releasing 3,500 and it is falling to under 2,000 this year. They have also decided to start a user pays system for core infrustructure like hospitals, parks, etc. This has added over $30,000 to the cost of each and every acre of land that is used for development.I am not sure about the S.A government, but the local Labour tossers ARE responsible to some effect int he crazy Sydney house prices. In 1971 when I was borne, my parents bought a house in Mosman (VERY post sydney suburb) for $30,000. At the time my dad was a senior executive for Levis and earned just shy of $3,000. This makes the old fasioned equasion of one years salary for the car and 10 years for the house. Now in 2007 the average house price is $500,000 and the average wage is about $50,000. Still the same formula is in effect with $50,000 for the T

But you already know my views on over Governance.Do I see a mass exodus to other states? Yes , it is already happening with cities like Brisbane starting to feel in a major way infrastructure pinch as a consequence. It is all in the planning, not for now, but for the future. Which generation? which political party will start to manage in the appropriate fashion? Unfortunately none !!Who pays? Your family and mine Buf-Phoon for the sack state governments party Edited 10/05/07 11:35 AM by Buf-Phoon
