I read an article, well a cartoon actually in the courier mail today.

It was a picture of a boxing ring with howard in one corner, and rudd in the other, they rang the bell and hey both started fighting, then they returned to their corners, howard without a scratch on him, and rudd pissing blood out of every corner of his face saying "I think were ahead on points" hehehe

that's exactly how its going at the moment. It finished up with costello standing in front of howard in a superman outfit.

Great cartoon. Dont believe everything you see on the TV, the polls wont mean anything until election day. I dare say that if labour DOESNT get in this time, it might well be the end of the labour party, and time for a new party, after all that's what it needs, a complete re-write. If you check centrebet at the moment howards 1.87 and labour 1.92, so closer to the election people will look, and get to see on the TV what has happened when howards been in, and make their own decision, which will come down to dollars and cents, meaning that we have an aging population in this country a good percentage of which are home owners, and have made fortunes out of john howard. What more could you want from a government, than to make you rich?

I believe the general idea of labour is great, every person in existance want workers to be treated fairly and paid accordingly, its just a sad fact that they just waste too much time and money.

What kind of moron would put somebody in charge of a political party, who has never held a job in his life? im talking beasley. how would he know anything about labour if hes gone straight from uni to politics?

You only say hes a little george bush because of the iraq war, which was pretty much a must for australia, who the hell are we going to rely on to protect ourselves if all hell breaks loose? new zealand?

Is Australia a member of the United Nations? What other countries does Australia have alliances with? Have you forgotten that you're still a Commonwealth member which receives support from your parent country in order to protect its assets?

If you want to see union protests on the news every night, and go back to the days where there was 10 telecom guys standing on a corner having smoko 5 times a day - VOTE FOR LABOUR

Something tells me that the unions aren't really on the media's radar much these days. 10 Telecom workers standing on a corner..well, that hasn't changed either as it still happens.

I get paid about $1.70 an hour.

Scotty

You forgot to mention that your income is tax free. :spoton:

whats going to happen if howard loses his own seat???

it may be time to look at the bigger picture to see who's voting Howard, and what would change if Costello was in the BIG seat

Im a pommie ozzie, meaning my dads a pom, so ive not forgotten about the aussie, uk alliance.

we owe a lot to the brits, even though a few people like to pommie bash etc. after all they shaped the modern world as we know it, including the USA, and if they didnt win WWII, we'd all be speaking german by now.

We owe a lot to the UK, like it or not. people can pommie bash all they want, the brits dont need to prove anything to anybody, australia however is a different story.

No mate I pay tax, all regular defence members pay tax.

All joke aside, Defence is not a bad wicket, great if deployments come along onn a regular basis. Good for expierence and job satisfaction and not bad for the hip pocket.

Wesley, no arguments there for sure. If it weren't for Britain, I'd be speaking the queens tongue and then probably German more than I already do. :)

Scotty, you're not wrong there. I've been pushing my step sons to join the ADF so they can see a bit of the world and get a trade or skill. I'm ex U.S. Navy (Aviation Electrician) myself so I know what benefits can be had by serving one's country.

Speaking of unions (getting back to the political nature of the thread), did anyone else catch the first half of that Warfie movie on SBS last night? It revolves around the MUA and what happened back in 1998 regarding the government and Patrick.
