Australians will get there chance to vote, though it would appear that the great unwashed are unable to understand the simple philosophies required to successfully manage a nation :spoton:

And no sorry I was not going to agree :w00t2:

:nudie: how did I know you were'nt gunna agree with me??

nah, seriously, the fact that I agree to disagree is what makes politics viable, because without the "great unwashed" as you prefer to call us, there would be no need for govt at all.....

in the end, who we vote for, and the reasons behind these votes, will always vary from person to person, at least its good to see people putting thought into this subject rather than voting for whoever the pencil touches.

would you argue that Bob Hawke was a union puppet, did the country not prosper under his leadership, granted Keating didnt follow thru, but the economics of the time would have caused the death of either party, lose/lose situation, much the same as the current iraq situation, unions should always have a place in australia, they may be bad for some, but their assistance has helped many also, and so you know, I am not a member of a union, although I once was, and I never used the union in my workplace, but they were there if I needed them, and I have always found my dealings with them to be fair for all.

:spoton: nothin like an honest and open discussion between one bunch of blokes who think they know everything, and another bunch who assume they know everything.

I'm all happy as long as we admit the fact we all know nothing :nudie:

that's why I sat out of it cause I do know everything apparently........

Actually... The more I learn I realise the less I know, These dudes we are talking about have degrees in political history.. If we even knew the real political reasons for decision over the last 400 - 1500 years, we would have enough knowledge to run for parliment... Ex-cons excluded Tony

Costello should probably receive more credit than Howard for the country's current well being as he has been instrumental in the running of the machinations of government policy and investment.( note invest, spend is what Labor does and then willy nilly when they do)

What was the deficit when the coalition gained power?

Unfortunatly Australians do less searching about political leaders then they do on the Melbourne Cup.....

People get wiser after backing a donkey every November and decide to look at what others are backing.

This also can prove fruitless as sometime the one you backed lost for reasons you cannot explian....

The cup is run every year and most aussies are once a year punters and still they dont hit the mark..

I raced and trained horses for years, have hung around a lot of tracks and most winners in cups are the ladies...

Why?????????? They back colours, names, presentation, and whatever there girlfriends and friends think...

Federal votes come around once every three years so most voters get one third of the experience they get backing melbourne cup winners.....

No testing the form, no testing the distance, no finding the genes.....

Just lead by the majority... Unfortunatly the majority have just as little experience as the followers and the government and opposition rely on that....

Elections come down to three words.. Very simply 2 words..

Perception.....

You think australian voters are educated in a political stacked voting system..... I think not..... People will out vote someone (like Zap said) because there letterbox was the wrong size, a parking space has been removed. or what I believe will happen "That nice young Queensland boy wears nice suits"
