Hi guys new to this fourm I think this is my first post!!!

I have a 04 mk 2 t 6 speed in rapid ( sedan).

Had a few mods done to it latest one being power mods courtesy of the wog!!

Had a xforce 3.5 inch exhaust fitted to my car with the twin dump nad metal cat.

I have noticed that there is a rattle coming from under the car somehwere at the rear at idle could this be the exhaust???

When I put my Xforce exhaust on I had the same rattle. The exhaust was touching where it goes over the diff. I used a hose clamp on the rubber support to firm it up and stop it from hanging down. It only had to be lifted a couple of mm. Been fine ever since.

I noticed your car had a rattle on it when Nick drove it up on the hoist before you had the exhaust was fitted to it, so you can be fairly certain it isn't the exhaust :roflmbo:

It is worth inspecting the heat shields to see if they are loose. Start and idle the car for a few minutes and inspect the shield to see if it is vibrating, resonating at a particular rpm or otherwise making a rattlinging noise. The excessive vibration and rattle may only be apparent at certain rpms and temperatures.

aa

I think it may be over the diff section like you said it is only apparent at idle at certain times and its definately a new rattle never had one like this before the exhaust.

Could it be one of the rubber hangers ????
