INAUGURAL FORDXR6TURBO.COM GoKart ENDURO CHALLENGE

When
: Sunday, May 27th, 2007

Where
:
Go Karts Go
, Turton Rd, Broadmeadow

Race Time
: From 11am!

It's time to put all your mad driving skills to the test in the forum's first ever GoKart Enduro Challenge. This race is a team event where your partners will be chosen at random at the track and the winners are the ones who complete the most laps (trophies will be awarded).

Race Details

Teams consist of 2-5 drivers (will depend on our numbers)

Karts will be the 6HP variety

One 7 min practice session

One 7 min qualifying session

Enduro race for 15 mins per driver (30mins for two, 45mins for three, etc)

Lord Cyric (ie. me!) will be the sole adjudicator for randomly assigning teams and deciding the result.

Bring your kids along to make a family day of it as they have some dual-seat karts that are perfect for introducing the nippers into the driving world (all at the standard kart hire price too!). There is Mini-Golf right next door to keep them amused while their not out driving.

The kart facility has plenty of tables and seats inside for us to use, plus arcade games and an air hockey table. They are also throwing in use of their BBQ at no charge (including gas), all we have to do is provide our own food. So we'll be having lunch at the track with the meat being provided by local Novacastrian Mickey Gee (~$5 per person should cover his costs). :spoton:

Might have something planned in the afternoon before the drive home... more on this shortly.

Costs

$60 per person to compete in the Enduro Challenge

$5 for a GoKart License (valid for 12 months)

~$5 for BBQ lunch (covers cost of meat & salads)

Additional kart time costs $18 for 10mins, $25 for 15mins or $45 for 30mins.

Cruise Details from Sydney

Rally Point
: Truck Rest Stop @ Old Pacific Hwy, Berowra (formerly known as the Old Toll Booths)

Departure
: 9am sharp!

A quick sprint up the Old Pacific Hwy and then onto the F3 Freeway heading to Newcastle.

Highly Recommended

  • Bring your CB radio so that you will know what is going on during the cruise (directions, updates, silly commentary and a few good laughs).
  • PLEASE have a full fuel tank when you arrive at the meeting point. Shell & Mobil are on the Old Pacific Hwy as you drive into Berowra and a Caltex is just off the highway on the left at the Berowra Waters Rd turnoff (near the train station).

So come on, bring the family and let's see what you're really made of... :bum:

any carts more powerful than the 6 HP variety, you know for the larger gents whose power to weight ratios will ensure they are a burden on their teams regardless of driving ability :roflmbo::roflmbo:

otherwise count me in :roflmbo:
