Yeah I developed this after ford replaced my diff. :gooff:

Kind of a metal on metal sound.

Mine also does it if I go into a driveway at an angle to(ie. one wheel tucked up and one wheel hangs down)

Its already been in once to be fixed but as usual they did nothing...

Keep me posted if you work out what it is.

Anybody got any ideas?

Chris

Has anyone got any ideas what it might be?

I want to find out for myself before I take it back to them, so I can just say FIX THIS!!!

They are obviously incapable of finding it...

Thanks

Chris

Took the words out of my mouth Pete.

But then it could also be the entire rear subframe. Mine had a noise 2 years ago, that was like a bowling ball rolling around in the boot when I turned under power or went up driveways. The rear section was totally loose.

I've got the same problem, accelerating around a courner and it rattles, sounds a bit like a CV in a front wheel drive car just before it breaks.

I do not believe that mine is a diff problem,,, as it only seems to happen on over slightly bummy roads,,, I have read on a previous thread that shockies stuffed or may be loose sway bar,,, or another thought was some bolt that bumps the fuel tank I think they said something about diff cradle... one more idea was a loose fuel tank

Had very similar syptoms. Make sure the rear sway bar linkages are in good condition. I had mine replaced within 12 months of new, and even though they looked ok it was not until they were removed and inspected that the problem was evident - bushes were *&^%$#. New ones fitted under warranty.

I'm having the same issue. It started happening after I towed a bit of a load. It only happens on a sharp bump, a slight knock from the rear end.

I suspect it's my exhaust as it hangs quite low in the back.
