thanks guys, this is what I was after, a nice conversation about it... not a sh!t fight...

I was surprised about the outcome, I expected it to be even to be honest. it's does have a step at about 3500rpm, but it is acceptable below 3500 and just goes likes stink above that...

I like it, it's not as tunable as the turbo, but we'll see what I can get out of her with an exhaust, intake and an edit...

BAMKIITURBS - if you're in melbourne brother, come down to Princes on a friday, I'll be there...

Dave.

Be sure to post some sound clips or video clips of the new exhaust once you get it :roflmbo:

We had a BF XR8 dyno up 205rwklw std auto and we have had some XR6T's dyno up as little as 173rwklw it's possible

CV PERFORMANCE

Yeh and only 150kg's difference in weight and 100nm of torque at 2500 rpm difference...

The only NA boss 8 I have seen that had any go at all down low was running such a low diff that his top speed in 4th (auto) was around 160kmh..

I am still very sceptical that this guys says he did it easy....

Think he just came here cause he has been beaten by 30 of them and then he finally beats one (doesnt mention it had L plates on it) and brags that all stock T's are lousy...

yeah for sure dude!

now, I KNOW you're full of it! According to wheels and the service manual the difference in weight is exactly 50kgs or from a turbo sedan to an 8 ute; around 100kgs, but no where near 150.

also, for a 4-speed auto to have a maximum speed of 160km/h it would have to have a diff ratio of 6.45:1 (ULTRA low) which would also make 6000rpm in first around 43km/h - get real mate.

can't you see that you're totally on your own on this one? Take the hint, walk away and leave us be to have a civilized conversation.

Dave.

For those who are saying stock Ts and 8s are slow, get a reality check.

Low 14s/high 13s are not hanging about. You only have to look as far back as pre BA to see even the best HSVs and Tickfords were struggling to crack into the 14s bracket.

Generally, as an average, the lighter, more responsive T will normally account for an 8, but only by a few 10ths.

But, as stated, we know how the power figures for the stock cars vary widly. Fordboy's 8 may just well be at the higher end of the scale, while the T he ran may have been at the lower end (and may have even been a little sick). It's quite possible, just not the norm.

Somwhere along the line, the Boss motor went from being a great thing (first reviews) to crap. Funnily enough about the same time GM was copping flack about high Gen III failures.
