I went for drive with a mate last Tuesday to princes hwy. There wasn't much going on, but I still found a few runs. there was an XR6T auto that was rolling around with a what seemed to be a lightly modded 200SX.

we lined up about 5 or 6 times and every time we would stay about line ball through 1st, then I would just start to pull away until I had made about 5 or 6 car lengths on him.

my car? a stock auto BF XR8 ute.

as I said I was quite surprised.

Dave.

stock is slow anyway. All that extra money you spent should do somethin. Want to go fast, a T has to at least be edited, bye bye xr8, hello M5!!

Is your XR8 a 6 speed auto vs the 4 speed BA???

If yes then there's half a sec down the qtr just in the trans!

The V8 shgould get more advantage of the 6 speed over the turbo, as the T's max torque comes in at 2000 RPM where as the extra 2 gears help keep the V8 within the torque range.

If you lined up against a BF turbo with the 6 speed auto then the results would be reversed!

Another thing is what fuel were both cars using??? there's a fair difference from 92 to 98 RON fuel!

I drive a BF XR8 Ute, and have had a couple of runs with BF XR6T ute, which belongs to my mate. Both our cars are stock, and have found that I always end up about a car length infront. Both cars auto, both using BP Ultimate.

Maybe they just slow down at the speed limit and you V8 owners keep your foot down to justify your bad purchase....

I find that a lot

You don't muck around .. just tell it as it is :spoton:

The 8's are pretty quick, but I havent run againts one in my BFXR6T that I havent done.

What sort of ambient temperature are you running in. makes an unbelieveable difference to the turbo. Middle of the Day up here in north queensland my car goes nowhere fast
