The car has just had its 105,000km service and I told the guys at ford about the problem and looked at it and then told me that the "first steps" were to upload some new "patch" into the computer and go from there if it still made the noise after the service. Now the bad news is it is still making the noise and I put my back out the next morning and havent been able to drive it really all that much for the last 2 weeks! When I could I got a mate to sit in the drivers seat and I gathered from me popping the hood and me listening outside and him changing between gears (its an auto) it makes noise in reverse and drive only and only at idle and the noise is much louder in reverse, but the strange thing is I couldnt hear any vibrating/tapping while I was on the outside of the car only wen I sat inside with my mate. So, hopefully im going back to work on monday if my back holds up and the ford customer service people are waiting on my call to have the car back to have another look but I thought id post this up (forgive the long winded write up!) and c if anyone has had this problem and if so wats the solution? Thanks guys, I hope u know something I or ford dont!Lukee85 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/34684-vibratingtapping-noise-driving-me-nuts/ Share on other sites

It only has to meet the emissions laws of the year that the car is produced, which don't change.
