SweetXR Member 124 Member For: 21y 6m 23d Location: Melbourne, VIC Posted 30/04/07 08:54 AM Share Posted 30/04/07 08:54 AM The time is coming that will require the current BA T to go back to the lease company and a replacement found. I am keen to purchase for a longer term (say 6 or so years) and put a few of the dollars saved upgrading cars every 3 or 4 years into the home loan instead. However, I will not drive a base model vehicle. I am also thinking that if I buy secondhand, a lot of the depreciation from the first year on a new car is avoided. My dilemma is that the new Falcon will be here next year making the current model very outdated on the road while the VE is very fresh. Having driven Falcons for 13 years and never owning a Commodore (and until now not wanting to) I am unsure of what to buy. I know this is a controversial question, but it needs to be asked. There are pros and cons for both the Typhoon and the SS. Any help.

Just take one for a drive and you will be sold
Guest newl Guests Posted 30/04/07 09:16 AM Share Posted 30/04/07 09:16 AM Test drive both. Read up on the reviews, stats and what have you and make an informed decision. In the end, you're the only one who can choose. I do agree with the statement regarding depreciation however and that in itself will save you plenty of money. You won't be able to do that on the VE platform until they start the runout deals whereas you can do it on the F6 now (unless you're looking for an '06 model of course then the same would apply).Good hunting. You will be then driving something whilst not the latest model out there, but pretty damned special none the less Worked OK for me, pretty happy so far with with my work taxi Except for the scraped rear RH wheel ( thanks Vicki ) Good luck

It is something special, and I hope will be worth more than an Bogan special in 4 years when I come to sell it. I paid around the same price as an Bogan special . On top of that in 4 years petrol will be $2.00 a liter and I'll have a hard time selling a 4 liter let alone a 6 liter V8!When I get sick of just 270 kw I can go to my local tuner pay him a couple of grand and drive away with 350 kw

You can't be serious; comparing an SS to a Typhoon. You're among friends here so let us speak frankly. If you are seriously thinking of buying an SS as an alternative to a phoon then you will most certainly be called a d!ckhe@d by most people here. And we all know Holdens were invented to keep d!ckhe@ds out of Fords right? So there's you're answer - go buy the Holden.
