Posted 26/04/07 11:55 AM Share Posted 26/04/07 11:55 AM I posted some photos over Easter of the Tripod with my new 52mm stepper motor gauges. These things come with white and amber LED lighting ... so you can run white in the day and amber at night. The amber is pretty good, however it would be better if it was blue. I have now been able to put blue lighting in to match the instruments ... it looks awsome!. The SMD LED's are 470nm wavelength that match the blue instrument lights really well ... not exactly but damn close ... and the needles are illuminated red that also matches. The photo below doesn't highlight the blue as much as I would like ... but it gives you the idea. I have only done one so far so you can see the contrast with the amber colour. The photo of the 470nm blue swatch gives a a good indication of the actual colour.Cheers,Scottblue_led.bmp

They have Swiss made Stepper motors in them which are state of the art. I have used stepper motors in other applications for a company I do consultancy work for (non auto related) and the accuracy and reliabilty of the stepper motors is exceptional in comparison to most others.
