I have done a search on intermittent power loss and an increase in fuel consumption and can't find anything that relates directly to my situation,so any advice would be appreciated.

I recently bought the edit with generic tunes and found the car to be running very consistently with both the 8psi & 10psi maps.At the time of purchase it was run on the dyno to make sure all was fine and the results were safe. After a week of driving my fuel economy actually improved from an average of 15.5 l/100km to high 14's even with some spirited driving.

One day I noticed that the car started behaving weird, in that one minute it would go hard and then the next it would loose considerable power.I also noticed that within a few days the fuel usage has gone up to 17.5 l/100km and still rising.

I have checked all the hoses for loose clamps and even decided to fit the new intercooler which I had sitting in the garage waiting to be added with some other mods, which I intended to do all at once.this eliminated the loose clamp scenario. My spark plugs were regapped at time of edit which I noticed caused the car to pop on idle.Should I check the plugs again?

Any advice as to what could be causing this and what other things I could do to try and track down the problem would be great.

Thanks

The way plugs capa say to use are crap, get yourself some BF or Phoon plugs (same thing) and the idle will be good, that should sort out your idle, as far as your other problem is, is your engine check light on? could be a farked o2 sensor, blocked cat, get your car diagnostics checked...Also try flashing back to stock to see if it still has the issue

Thanks,I will get the plugs you suggest as I am confident that the idle problem is caused by the plugs.

I have reflashed the factory map and the same problem with power loss is there. This suggests to me that the edit is fine and the problem is elsewhere.Still scratching my head.

like Fats said check O2 sensor and cat. Also be careful running around with the bigger cooler because you should have the car retuned.
