Hey all, the ltimes ive filled up my T I have it has been a right royal pain in the ass. It just keeps clickng off all the time and it takes me like 20mins to fill the bitch. It seems to only do it when filling from anywhere above the fuel light, when the car is super low on fuel it fuels up fine. Anybody else had this drama or know where I should look to fix the problem?

Get on your back and look straight up under the rear guard. The hose that you stick the pump into may be pushed up or something? :spoton:

The pump clicks off when the it senses that the flow is slowing. This can be from the hose splashing it back.

Other than that meh!

Gav, mine did it a few times ONLY when filling up from 1 particular servo - in Ringwood. Always stops though before it's full and takes a few more clicks on slow fill to top it right up. I no longer use that servo.

Take it to a mechanic or Ford and tell them it's not venting properly. The fuel pump receiver hole on the xr6t is different to the XT in that there is less room around the nozzle when its inserted, so it has to vent properly.

It could be a venting problem.

There is a thin hose that comes out of the tank and follows the main tube up tot he filler.

If this is damaged, it will cause the symtoms you describe. If it is under warranty, get Ford to do it under warranty.

I have this problem at some servos.. not all. so I've put it down to the bowser. I was told by a servo attendant that if it happens, try twisting and turning the nozzle and the surrounding equipment around the hose.. it helped a few times :censored:

I have NEVER had this problem with any of my Fords.

I jam the fuel cap in the handle and clean the screens while it fills. I know how many litres it will take and then go manual before it clicks off.

Some cars have a fueling sweet spot that you need to find. I did full driveway service for 7 years, so I am used to putting fuel in cars.
