Na I'm not worried I actually own my car outright I'd hate to be someone who borrowed the full amount and things go bad and they need to sell it within the first year or two, I posted the above for info value.

All cars depreciate, that's life.

I would expect that the XR-6 Turbo will be one of the stronger resellers in the Falcon range.

I was looking on Wednesday at an online auction, and there was a 2002 AU III XR-8, ex police car, with about 45,000k's on it, in good condition, which sold for just over $24,000. They were a $50,000 car. Now THAT is depreciation!

Those numbers are excellent, especially the private secondhand values which l doubt you couldn't match with any other car in the red book at present :D Take a 2002 XR6T for example, what other car could you buy and drive for 6 months and potentially sell for $3k less than you paid? 7% depreciation is great.

The trade in prices are what you would expect as a dealer has to have a margin to make it worth their while. l still think they are good.

As Dazz points out, if you want to experience true depreciation buy an AU!

Working for a company that has a high vehicle turnover these figures are very important to me. I was wondering when they would start to become available. Great to finally see it and as already mentioned they are not to bad. Another 6 months or so and I will maybe have a couple of run in turbo's to sell at a decent price. Also don't forget the dealer will wack $5000 to $10000 on the trade in price on average to make their money.

Just gotta add though, I've been looking through the trading post, and have seen a 2002 'T' with 35,000km on the clock selling for $47,000. If people can't wait for 4 months for a new one, they'll be willing to pay anything!
