THE NO IS BAF 7A095 AA "FACT : This is a ford cooler part numberFICTION : It is no different to the coolers fitted to T6 cars from 2002 FACT : Ford is releasing a special cooler for the 40th GTFICTION : It is no more special than one from REPCO or EQUIVILANTFICTION : The ZF Gearbox needs a special coolerFACT : Any cooler will work the Auto will not go in to limp mode (Just remember to add extra trans fluid the right type)After spending an afternoon at FMCO I am no professional but I believe what I see and I see ZF equipped cars with Trans coolers. The mechanic who looks after specifically drive train components corrected the above points, I quote.“If you are concerned he said he would fit a trans-cooler for $600.00 with warrantee or jut pick a larger one up from REPCO”Well I did my research I await the onslaught of corrections from the audience

When ford makes one that clips on and bolts in. the hard work is done for ya. just a note the std turbo zf box has a water to oil cooler mounted under the a/c comp. the cooler that you have quoted is a air to oil cooler that includes all the fittings to go onto this cooler. I must be mistaken I thought the 4spd went through the radiator!just my 2 cents Edited 20/04/07 12:04 PM by kev302

MBThe ZF cooler is great for STD use. If you wish to fit a larger cooler (Track or strip work or just insurance) as you have noted in the previous threadhttp://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=33339Then you do not need a special cooler as KEV has pointed out in the (previous thread) any trans cooler will be okYou can purchase any trans cooler and fit it but remember to refill the tranny with the correct oil

Go to the Ford website, and you can see that an upgraded cooler for the ZF trans is not available.
