carazy Member 27 Member For: 17y 8m 14d Posted 20/04/07 08:12 AM Share Posted 20/04/07 08:12 AM Hello all.. Some wa*ker took it upon himself to swipe my car while it rested in the Upark in Adelaide. I parked it next to the coloumb to protect one side and parked next to a VX commonwhore assuming that the arsehat owner would take some care. Looks like I was wrong.I normally take photos of the number plates around me but the one time I don't I get whacked!I've contacted Upark and it seems the "topside" one on waymouth is the only Upark in Adelaide that actually has a proper camera setup. They are going to review footage and give me a number plate, which the lady advised I can take to the cops. Now.. this will most likely buff straight out but I want to make the f*cker that did this pay. Any clues on how I can get address details out of a number plate or how I can take this further... MUCH FURTHER?

carazy Member 27 Member For: 17y 8m 14d Posted 21/04/07 02:04 PM Author Share Posted 21/04/07 02:04 PM Good news everyone. I spent about 2 and 1/2 hours working away at the paint marks and scratch with Meguiars ScratchX, some polishing pads and a cloth. This is the result. Very happy with the result, I still have some work to do (you can see some remains of the scratch on the left hand side) but the scratch didn't actually get past the clear coat so I should be ok. Problem is, this scratchx stuff works so bloody well I'll have to detail the entire car!

benjam Member 137 Member For: 19y 8m 10d Location: Sydney NSW Posted 22/04/07 03:34 AM Share Posted 22/04/07 03:34 AM Years ago I took a plate number to the local police station, remembered the plate after parking and came back to find bumper scratched to all hell. Then saw the car again next day in same place with my paint on it's bull bar. Anyway the cop took the plate number, matched it to the car description I gave, then called directory assistance right infront of me to get the owners phone number for him to call and question. The owner denied everything of course, but I overheard all his details as the cop repeated the name, address, phone number back to the operater etc. I thought long and hard about paying the owner a visit, but instead I took all that info to the insurance company with my story, nothing made up and got a nice new repainted bumper, no excess paid. A few months later I got a call from the other guy's insurance asking how I got his details.... Ben

Stay cool, go through the proper process and hopefully you'll see justice done in the end. Good luck mate!
