ive been thinking about putting the F6 lower snorkel on my car its been custom tuned at cv bf six speed auto with about 267 awkw is it worth my time and will doing so f*ck my engine without getting it retuned thanks to anyone who replys

Here is some information.

When I remove the factory panel filter from the airbox most of the discolouration (90%) is coming from the F6 intake not the std side T intake. I will try to post a picture.

So either the airflow from the F6 lower intake is dirtier than the upper intake or most of the flow is from the lower intake.

Once the car is up to 80kpm it starts generating power anew - it goes... If this is due to IC airflow and or the kinetic energy of the intake air through the induction system (less boost, less temp, more advance yada yada) I can't measure.

Perception say throttle is snappier, but that is perception.

Idle induction noise is slightly louder and lower in tone (pleasant).

Install and deintall are 5 minute jobs.

Regards,

aa

I recently stumbled across some info while looking in a k&N catalogue...it lists that the new BF MKII GT has a Panel filter, the same filter that out I6's run....

If pod filters are better (mounted in a BA GT air box for example), why are they going back to the panel?

I have pretty much the same setup, and it's not bad for the turbo.

True... my turbos being free spooling for 44ooo kays now, and its as tight as they come from Garrett

So would a K&N Pod in the standard air box be better than a panel filter? Assuming you have an F6 cai too.

well ive done all those things and ive fine that pod in the airboxs with F6 snokle worked pretty good.

but I still wasnt happy with the induction noise and how it perform so I was bored one day and

made my own intake pipe and performs alot better then all the other combos using the stock crossover and sounds the best. here a few qick pics of how it setup.

Mate that looks pretty good for a stock crossover job, I was thinking something similar except modify the stock box slightly and have the pod in it to try and keep some of the heat out.

I run a pod on my F6. It just sits in bottom of the stock box (see pic attached). I know it sucks hot air in, but I just love the sound it makes. I can't get enough of it! Especially the way it sucks from about 2200 to 3000. I find myself driving to work now without music coz I'm too busy listening to the induction. I've got the stock top to the box with a K&N panel stashed in the boot just in case I need to swap it for some extra power, but I much prefer the flutter and sucking noise than 1 or 2 kws.

Edit: I love that pipe running straight in though, might copy that!
