My mate has two and they are mental!! flat out and annoy the crap out of you!!

Not sure what the normal temprament of the breed is supposed to be though... :censored:

I have 2 German Shepherds (my no. 5 & 6) and they are indoors.

They get walked twice a day, don't annoy the neighbours with barking all day and sh*t all over the backyard attracting flies.

Amazing pets, and totally engaged in our lives, much to the reward for all parties involved :wackit:

Awesome Dogs , when I lived in Qld had a father and son , long hair. Big fit dogs weighing in at nearly 50kgs each.In terms of intelligence these animals were poles apart from my mates(2) that had owned multiple Staffies.

A good Shepperd is really a part of the family, more so than any other breed I have come into contact with. Hard to explain but they really have a sixth sense and are very intuitive beasts.Play with them , keep them excercised and you will find a loyal companion for as long as they live , which unfortunately , on average not much more than 12- 14 years.

Unfortunately the older dog only survived one day on my parents acreage , before he saw fit to chase a roo onto the main road (a few Ks chase , this was a determined animal). Can't blame the dog , he had never seen one before and it was on his new turf .

Miss them both , Razzle and Kaiser :censored:

I had a bad experience many years ago, where my perfect 11 month old male German Shepherd and I was out walking after work in the local reserve. I thought I had him under control when we went to cross a minor road, but as he sat 'heel' waiting for a singel VW transporter to pass, he must have seen something, because he went :roflmbo: 1 m in front of me he got hit and thrown down the road, where I held him for what seemed like an eternaty, until he died, probabloy from massive internal bleeding :pooh:

We were both young and inexperienced, he died and I live with the awful memory :crybaby:

This is why I take extra care these days, as I would not like to see this kind of thing again, nor would I wish it on anyone who cares for their animal

Top tip - do not buy a sh*t-Tzu.

My wife's dog (I stress this!) is so stupid it panicked one evening when we were out, and managed to rip the cat flap out of the door, ending up like this when by the time we got home...
