well after inspecting my car after I got back from camping at buchan caves (vic) over the last week, I have noticed my front LHS fog light is cracked.

It has cracked right across but doesn't appear as though the glass is going to come loose.

Is this a major concern?

apart from looking like a poor(er) man who can afford to fix his car :w00t2: is there any concerns with functioning & as long as I check it hasn't deteriorated further, will it be ok in its current state until my next service in a few months?

whats a rought price on 1 (or pair) of the suckers?

Thanks :spoton:

Hey SCRIBR,

I've replaced both so far, and now have another crack in the offside, right across it. It's been broken for 2 months and as I never use the spotties I'm leaving it as it is. Looking for some of that real think contact sheet like I had on the bike. It can handle the heat so when I get around to getting some I'll replace the light and stick that over it for a bit of protection.

edit, sorry can't remember the price I paid. I think somewhere around the $130 each.

I found some nice private roads there.. pretty bumpy and covered in stones.. maybe that's where it happend? :ermm:

the roads were not as bad as that otways backroad "straight" though...

I had the same, the easy fix is a set of driving light protectors $45 from ford

:spoton: No Offence Jasper

I never broke another one after fitting the protectors.

I with those guys, the protectors are $30 from ebay for the genuine ford part, work a treat. I got my rhs one smashed on the way home from picking the car up for the first time. Bought the light ($160-$180 from ford....ouch!), installed the protector never a drama again. If I run my hand across the protectors I feel all the potential $180 chips, best $30 ever.
