SP3000s were not made for that kind of power. You need a good tyre if you're going to edit an XR6T otherwise you'll just sit there spinning them up. There's no point in increasing your car's power if you can't get that power down. Even though my Z1s (Maxxis) have MAYBE 1mm of legal tread left they will only chirp in 1st and I'm pushing 255-260rwkw. They're useless in the wet in first 3 gears but that's to be expected. I'd like to get some V103s but I really don't want to pay retail so I may have to settle for something else.

hi I have 05 xr6t manual 6spd dyno only 245 rwkw std dunlop 235/45 tyres

they appear to loose traction when car hits 3500rpm in 1st it revs very sharply to just off limiter(6400) are better tyres or different shocks or springs or is it the clutch going dyno showed a year ago 570nm torque any feed back appreciated :censored: clutch appears ok

One thing that noone has mentioned here is how quick the power comes on. I have 259rwkw with a mild power curve and struggle to break traction.

My mate on the other hand has 238rwkw with a power curve that's almost vertical (gearbox killer) and he can break traction without any trouble whatsoever.

Sounds to me like a combination of both tyres AND power curve. If it were just a tyre issue, they must look like slicks because 245rwkw, like mine, is not a lot of power.

Cheers

You need to spend decent money on tyres, plain and simple. I have falken azinas and at 400 per corner they still spin but it takes alot more power to break traction than the old kumos did... those things would spin up on light throttle befor it reached full boost, the falkens need full throttle and full boost to break traction

Tyres are shagged, the tyres on my car were a bit 'how ya goin' when I took ownership of it, but I seem to have worn of the hard layer and they are getting more grip. I can now get partial traction in first with 280rwkw as opposed to no traction before. Tyres make all the difference

Put some heat into those thing's with a quality burnout, then watch them stick like glue to the road. ;)

Too much torque down low and you will fry any tyre .. partcularly when its cold ...

I just found out that the rear end bush (over the diiff) is smashed!! ... Jim recons too many launches ...

The car now kicks to the drivers side violently when it drops down a gear under full acceleration. A bit dangrous when you have cars next to you.

feathering the throttle will help too.. I can get pretty decent traction with very ordinary tires with a bit of control at stock power.

03xr6t will tell ya hahaha

Well, keep the tyres you have and learn to drive..

You should be able to accelerate as fast as the tyres dictacte, without traction issues.

Once you learn that, get better tyres and start again.

There's no problem nailing the throttle, but get off the gas just before boost hits. You should with practice be able to keep the tyres at the limit of adhesion at all times, even first gear. I actually get off the line at the lights for example quite cleanly, and have beaten many a rex or evo to the speed limit.

Treat the big girl like a woman. Get to know her, get a feel for what she likes and the way she reacts to differing treatment. Be gentle but assertive and tell her what you want, not the other way around :D With a good massage come rewards.. As you know, push them too far and they break out in all sorts of bad behaviour and don't stop squeeling untill you step back and treat her right!!

But yes, the Dunlop tyres are rubbish, especially after 50% wear. Get some good tyres and progress with them.

You are talking about your car here right. You don't have some underlying issues that need to be dealt with do ya? :spoton: Just kidding
