I only find it with the hsv's.

With other cars the jap cars are always curious knowing it's a turbo but very quickly they have their ego's crushed. (eg. GTR's, Supras, rx7's)

My uncle was shocked when I pulled away in third so easily from his beloved 996 911 TT.

And the two poor guys sitting in their black lambourghini gallardo put a car length on them twice and the guys were in awe of my car and I was busy drooling over their beast. I have to say though the sound coming out of the V10 is worth every penny, talk about sex on wheels.

All the above were performed on the track. Want to organise a track day soon for those interested in Sydney.

If you guys want to get good value from car modifications (and car) that primarily go quickly in a straight line the F6 or XR6T was the wrong purchase ...

In the same way, 911TT and Lamborghini Gallardo drivers should not be upset about loosing to a F6 or XR6T (nor should they have seriously tried to race one for that matter). Next time it will be a much quicker Torana or a VL next to them ... (and that goes for the F6 and XR6Ts bragging about the value of their purchase/mods as compared to a stock GTS) ... If you drag race F6s or XR6Ts (or any cars in this bracket) with your 911TT or Lamborghini Gallardo (or any cars in this bracket) you have lost your marbles or you have more money than brains.

The hole fun thing is to see what happens and how you go, I love smoking exotics on the bike, but have had my ass handed to me by a Turbo GTS who cares.....we had a chat after it and checked out each others gear..... :w00t2:

Mr Know it all we are on a ford turbo forum, this forum is set up for people with common interests and in this case it's the topic of having a run and real life comparisons of straight line performance.

Exotic car owners 'shouldn't be disappointed' who you kidding mate, I own and drive an AMG apart from my typhoon, so yes I own an exotic car myself and yes but we're not comparing the complete package but straight line speed (which we are talking about if you didn't know) if a stock typhoon goes head to head with a C55 AMG you give the cheaper car 'respect'.

No one's questioning anybodys purchase or why someone spent $xxx, xxx dollars on their car.

Not seriously raced! For your info mate after I had a run with the owner of the Gallardo we pulled over and had a chat and yes he was trying and yes would you believe his engine light came on and two weeks later he decided to downgrade and gave his car into to a prestige dealership not because of me but becsue he wanted to modify a car to go even quicker on the orad. Hard to believe for you (Alex) but maybe you should come on a cruise and see for yourself.

We're not making comparisons either on the value it's just the exotic car victims which are nice to have. I know even though I've spent moeny on improving my suspension that I will never compete with my uncle's 911 TT around the bends or on a track.

Why shouldn't exotic car owners have a run against other car no matter the make/model or value it's all in the name of fun, there's no agro it's a just quick run for fun.

This might be hard to beieve for you but when we have cruises we have AMG's, porsche's and VL's and torana's all in a group respecting each other's rides.

By the way your talking about a lack of marbles the people your talking about are in very high places and that comes with brains.

It's all about having a go, you should try it some time, unless you have balls the size of marbles.

So a family friend of mine who is high up at Mercedes HQ in Mulgrave, who just happened to be running in one of those twin turbo V12 monsters SL65, and had the keys for a week, before it's use by motoring journos, is short of a braincell or 2 is he? Just because, as we drove the thing along the fwy, a GT3 porka comes out of traffic with a S/C R8 clubby behind him. The three of them lined up on the fwy and nailed it. All the way to god knows what, with the little porka a long way behind. So he is nuts cos he raced an R8, or because he raced at all?

Get a life Alexus, and maybe grow some of your own testicles, instead of relying on others. Sheesh, people don't buy a ferrari etc to go I <3 Bananas slow! Nor do they modify an XRT or F6 to drive miss daisey around allday.

I think you guys misunderstand my post.

Typhoons are much more than cars that go quickly in a straight line and that is what you pay for. Otherwise you should have bought something else (which would have been much cheaper and faster).

In my opinion, it seems that straight line acceleration plays a huge part (for some) in a performance car purchase. I agree that this forms some part and is very important but not a major factor which it seems to be. The reason why I say this is because when you are spending big dollars on the high end Euros and Aussie muscle all that money (or a big portion of it) is for the things you cant do with a VL or a Torana etc. Therefore, look at your Porsches, Lambos, Ferraris etc these cars are not made for drag racing at all. This is mostly a byproduct of other things. For you to go and race a F6 with a Lambo (or whatever) and take it seriously or feel bad etc (or expect an owner to feel bad) ... you have missed the point and wasted your money. You cant be too smart if you do that. But perhaps some buy these cars for things they weren’t primarily designed for ... (I am sure that some people would buy those cars just for the look). Its your cash so do what you like with it ... just don’t get upset when you lose to a VL ... and the blokes beating these cars don’t expect owners to be a upset otherwise you should feel the same about your XR6T or F6 when you loose to something much cheaper ...

But for the fun drag and stuff around ... go for your life (with whatever)... I never said anything about that ...

What percentage of your purchase is based on quarter mile / acceleration stats (be honest)?

So, I hope that cleared that up ...

Are you serious?

Every guy on this forum and every other guy who goes to buy a "performance" car does check for it's quarter mile capabilites and straight line acceleration.

Are you trying to tell me that when every guy goes to test drive a "performance" car he doesn't kane the sh*t out of it in a straight line??????

Anyway mate you've definately lost your marbles and/or you have a serious case of sleep deprivation!
