Hey guys I havent fiddled with my t for about 15 months now and I thought id throw a little money at it. What I need help with is, What relatively cheap mods would push me closer to the 290-300rwkw mark with out breaking my budget.

my budget is $1500 which includes the semi slicks that I would like to buy to reach my goal of a 12.6 sec pass.

the mods I was thinking of would be- air filter, Valve springs, centre muffler removal.

So if you could suggest some mods and or tyre types it would be very much appreciated.

cheers Rob

By the looks of your signature Id say all you be needing is a retune and some valve springs. Ditch the air filter idea, waste of $120 and don't worry about removing the centre muffler, that does SFA but give you more noise.

Yeah, I'd probably get valve springs (did the guy that tuned the car mention anything about them?) or you could try getting it tuned somewhere else (if you aren't happy). I got my power in an auto without springs, cat or actuator and was going 13.4 @ 107mph (2.2sec 60ft) at the 1/4 with stock dunlops and less than 236rwkw (generic tune and fatigued fuel pump).

Valve spring aren't a waste of money though, I got my peak power at about 4,200rpm, I'm sure I'd see well over 300 if I could get the thing to rev out in the top end better which I know exhaust and springs will do.

I would see another tuner, not sure where you have had your work done but for the mods in your Sig you should be pushing more than that!! Also get them to put some valve springs in :gooff:

I agree with all the comments above mate, your mods should be netting you more than 275rwkw with a decent tune. What sort of injectors are you running?

As others have said, your valve springs may be letting you down and limiting what power your current mods can achieve. Also, a centre muffler replacement, whilst making the car sound a bit better, will give you stuff all more power. I've got pretty much the same mods as you (injectors, bigger intercooler, actuator, etc, but also have also had the valve springs done), am running a 4 speed auto and, with a good custom tune, achieved nearly 310rwkw.

Your sig indicates you're in the Shire? If so, try giving the boys at CV a call mate - that's who did my tune and I'm very happy with their work. :stirthepot:

im running injectors from one of our forum members Eugene, they seem fine and from what ive heard there doing their job. c and v did all my work :stupid:

Would my springs let me down before my exaust?

Sorry for got to add that im running 13psi tapered down to 11psi at high revs!!
